Highlights of the Trail
There are many exciting stops along the Heritage Trail, but a few must-see spots include the Old Firehouse and Police Station, the Bong Heritage Center, and the SS Meteor Maritime Museum. The Old Firehouse and Police Station, now a local history museum, offers a glimpse into the daily lives of firefighters and police officers during the early 1900s. The Bong Heritage Center is dedicated to Richard Bong, a WWII pilot and Superior-native, and features interactive exhibits and artifacts from his life. Lastly, the SS Meteor Maritime Museum is a retired whaleback ship turned museum, where visitors can tour the ship and learn about its role in the city's economy.
