I always tell visitors that the best way to truly experience Goffs is by exploring our many trails.
In this digital age, it's important to unplug and unwind, and what better way to do so than by immersing yourself in the beauty of nature. Discover Hidden Gems
Goffs is home to numerous trails that cater to all levels of hiking abilities.
Whether you are a novice or an experienced hiker, there is a trail for you to discover.
One of my personal favorites is the Marsh Lake Trail.
This hidden gem offers picturesque views of the lake and is perfect for a leisurely family hike.
Along the way, keep an eye out for the diverse wildlife that calls the area home. Immerse Yourself in History
Another popular trail is the Historic Shubenacadie Canal Trail.
Originally built in the 1800s to connect Halifax Harbour with the Bay of Fundy, this trail offers a glimpse into our town's rich history.
As you walk along the canal, you'll pass by lock systems, bridges, and other historical structures.
This is a great opportunity for families to learn about the area's past while enjoying a scenic walk. For the Adventurous
For the more adventurous families, I highly recommend the Goffs Canyon Trail.
This trail is not for the faint of heart, as it involves a steep climb up a cliff, but the views at the top are absolutely breathtaking.
On a clear day, you can see for miles and take in the stunning landscape of Goffs and the neighboring towns.
Make sure to bring sturdy hiking boots and plenty of water for this challenging but rewarding hike. Take a Break at the Picnic Area
After a day of exploring the trails, I suggest taking a break at the picnic area located near the Marsh Lake Trail.
This is the perfect spot to relax, have a picnic, and take in the peaceful surroundings.
There are also restroom facilities available for visitors.
Don't forget to clean up after yourselves and leave the area as pristine as you found it. Experience the Tranquility
Exploring the trails of Goffs is not just about getting some exercise and enjoying the scenery, it's also about experiencing the tranquility of nature.
