One of the most popular attractions in West Lafayette is the Farm at Prophetstown, a living history farm that offers a unique farm to table experience for families visiting the area. Located within Prophetstown State Park, this farm is dedicated to showcasing the history and practices of agriculture in Indiana during the 1920s and 1930s. As a local, I have had the opportunity to visit this farm multiple times and each time I am impressed by the interactive and educational experience it provides for visitors of all ages.

My personal favorite is the horse-drawn wagon ride around the farm, where you can learn about the history and uses of different crops and see the animals up close.

Kids can play in the corn crib, try their hand at using a washboard and scrubbing clothes, or try their balance on stilts. There is also a variety of handmade gifts and souvenirs available, including books, toys, and jewelry. I always make sure to stock up on their delicious homemade apple butter and pickles.
