Exploring the Best Eats and Sweets of Jacksonville Beach

Dive into the Deliciousness of Seafood
As a local in Jacksonville Beach, I can confidently say that one of the must-do activities for any tourist is to indulge in the fresh and mouth-watering seafood that our little beach town has to offer. Being situated right on the Atlantic coast, we are blessed with an abundance of freshly caught fish, shrimp, and oysters. You can't leave Jacksonville Beach without trying the local favorite: "Mayport Shrimp". These succulent, sweet and plump shrimp are a true representation of the flavors of our town. Whether it's fried, steamed or grilled, you can find delicious seafood cuisine at many of the beachside restaurants.

Don't Miss Out on the Quirky Beachside Eateries
Aside from traditional seafood dishes, Jacksonville Beach also boasts a variety of quirky and unique eateries that offer a one-of-a-kind dining experience. One of my personal favorites is "The Blind Rabbit". This speakeasy-style restaurant offers a delicious and creative menu, but the real charm is in the quirky and mysterious atmosphere. For a casual and laid-back vibe, be sure to check out "Mango Mango's Caribbean Grill & Bar" for some delicious jerk chicken and refreshing tropical drinks.

Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth
After indulging in all the savory dishes, it's time to satisfy your sweet tooth. Jacksonville Beach has some of the best dessert spots you can't miss out on. "Southern Bakers & Cafe" is a local favorite for delicious homemade desserts and pastries. You can also find the perfect scoop of ice cream at "Dreamette", a beachside institution for over 60 years. For a unique treat, try the Dole Whip at a "Mayday Ice Cream", a refreshing and tropical twist on soft serve ice cream.

Experience the Local Culture in the Food Trucks Scene
In addition to traditional restaurants, Jacksonville Beach also has a thriving food truck scene. Every Tuesday, you can find "Jax Beach Food Truck Court" where you can try a variety of food truck specialties, from gourmet tacos to wood-fired pizzas. It's a great way to experience the local food culture and try dishes from different cuisines.

Take a Bite Out of History
Lastly, a trip to Jacksonville Beach wouldn't be complete without trying some of the iconic dishes that have a place in our town's history. "Safe Harbor Seafood Market and Restaurant" is one of the oldest seafood restaurants in the area, serving up some of the best fried fish sandwiches in town since 1981. And for a taste of nostalgia, head to "Beachside Seafood Restaurant & Market" where you can dine on the dock while enjoying a view of the Intracoastal Waterway.

With its variety of flavors and unique dining experiences, Jacksonville Beach is a foodie's paradise. From fresh seafood to quirky eateries, there's something for everyone to enjoy. So come hungry and get ready to indulge in the best eats and sweets of Jacksonville Beach!
