Exploring the Historic Sites of Langhorne, PA

A Journey Back in Time
As a local of Langhorne, Pennsylvania, one of my favorite things to do is to explore the historic sites that our town has to offer. Langhorne is rich in history, dating back to the 1600s when the land was first settled by William Penn. It's a small town with a big story to tell, and I am excited to share it with you.
The Langhorne Heritage Trail
One of the best ways to experience the history of Langhorne is by walking the Langhorne Heritage Trail. This self-guided walking tour will take you on a journey through time, starting at the Middletown Friends Meeting House, which was built in 1684. Along the way, you will see historic buildings, landmarks, and plaques that provide information on the significance of each site. The trail is about 1.5 miles long and is suitable for all ages, making it the perfect activity for families and individuals alike.
Step into the Past at the Old Langhorne Borough Hall
One of the highlights of the Heritage Trail is the Old Langhorne Borough Hall. This beautiful building was built in 1878 and now serves as a museum. Here, you can step into the past and learn about the history of Langhorne through exhibits, artifacts, and photographs. You can also take a guided tour through the building and see the original jail cells, mayor's office, and council chambers. Don't forget to stop by the gift shop for some unique souvenirs.
A Taste of History at Middletown Grange Fair
For over 70 years, the Middletown Grange Fair has been a beloved tradition in Langhorne. This annual event brings together the community to celebrate our agricultural heritage and showcase local produce, animals, and crafts. The fair offers a variety of activities, including live music, competitions, and delicious food vendors. It's a great opportunity to experience the charm and hospitality of Langhorne while learning about its roots.
