Maclean House
The house was built in the mid-1700s by the Maclean family, who were prominent landowners in the region. It served as a tavern and stagecoach stop for travelers passing through the area. During the Revolutionary War, the house was used as a meeting place for British officers, including General Hugh Mercer.
Today, Maclean House is owned and operated by the Plainsboro Historical Society and is open to the public for tours. Visitors can step back in time as they explore the preserved rooms and learn about the role the house played in the Revolutionary War.
