The Statue of Whisper the Bull
According to legend, the town founder Richard Smith bet the Native American chief Nesaquake that he could ride a bull from sunrise to sunset and claim as much land as he could cover. Smith succeeded, and the town of Smithtown was founded as a result. To honor this legendary feat, the town commissioned the statue of Whisper the Bull in 1941.
