Gillies Grove and House National Historic Site
Built in the early 1870s by Alexander and Jane Gillies, the house serves as a perfect example of a traditional 19th-century farmhouse. It is filled with original artifacts and furniture, giving visitors a glimpse into the daily lives of the Gillies family.
In addition to the house, the site also boasts a dense and diverse woodland area that has been designated as a National Historic Site due to its rare and ancient trees. Visitors can take a leisurely walk along the nature trails, learn about the history and ecology of the forest, and spot wildlife such as deer, foxes, and a variety of bird species.
