Michigan Soldiers and Sailors Monument
The monument was commissioned by the state of Michigan in 1885 to honor soldiers and sailors who fought in the Civil War. It features a 27-foot-tall granite column topped with a bronze statue of an eagle. Surrounding the column are four life-size bronze statues representing the Army, Navy, Artillery, and Infantry branches of the military.
