From its early days as a popular seaside vacation destination to its role as a thriving hub for immigration and industry, Long Beach has a fascinating past that is worth exploring. The Society offers walking tours, lectures, and exhibits that showcase the island's diverse history and cultural heritage, making it an ideal destination for anyone with an interest in local history.
In addition to its educational offerings, the Long Beach Historical & Preservation Society oversees the maintenance and preservation of six historic buildings on the island, including a schoolhouse, a church, and a lighthouse.
