Cozy Southern Dining in Lucedale, MSAs a born and raised Lucedale local, I have tried my fair share of restaurants in this small town. However, no matter where I travel to, I always find myself craving the delicious comfort food served at The Chicken Basket. This locally-owned gem has been a staple in our community since it first opened its doors in 1986.
Upon walking into The Chicken Basket, you are immediately greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The rustic decor and friendly staff make you feel right at home. The menu is filled with classic Southern dishes, but their fried chicken is what draws in the crowds. Each piece of chicken is crispy and golden on the outside, and juicy and tender on the inside. It's no wonder why locals and out of town visitors alike flock to this restaurant for their fix of Southern comfort food.
One of my favorite things about The Chicken Basket is their commitment to using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
