After hearing rave reviews from friends and fellow travelers, I decided to check out The Ahwahnee Dining Room on my most recent trip to Yosemite Village. With its locally-owned, non-chain status and opening in 1927, this restaurant definitely met the criteria for a good option for out of town visitors. And let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The first thing that struck me upon entering The Ahwahnee Dining Room was its stunningly grand atmosphere. The interior design perfectly balances rustic and elegant elements, with soaring ceilings, exposed wooden beams, and stone walls adorned with beautiful artwork. The large windows allow for breathtaking views of Yosemite Valley while you dine, creating an ambiance that is truly unique and unforgettable. Menu and Food
Not only does The Ahwahnee Dining Room have an impressive atmosphere, but the menu and food also exceeded my expectations. The menu offers a mix of classic American and international cuisine, with a focus on locally-sourced and seasonal ingredients. I highly recommend trying their signature dishes, such as the Braised Short Rib and the Wild Mushroom Risotto. And don't forget to save room for dessert – their famous Ahwahnee Chocolate Nut Torte is a must-try. Service
In addition to the amazing atmosphere and delicious food, the service at The Ahwahnee Dining Room was top-notch. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive without being overbearing. The staff as a whole seemed to genuinely care about making our dining experience enjoyable and memorable. I truly appreciated their attention to detail and hospitality. Conclusion
