Concord lies in the southeast corner of New Hampshire with the Merrimack River winding its way through the city.

As the capitol city of New Hampshire, Concord overflows with history which begins with the New Hampshire State House.  A large building with a golden dome, visitors can explore either with or without a tour guide and see the nation’s largest House of Representatives.  Former US President Franklin Pierce built a home in what is now the historic district, so visitors can enjoy a tour of the home, the Pierce Manse, as well as see the President Franklin Peirce Tomb. 

History buffs with also want to check out the New Hampshire Historical Society as well as many statues and historical places in town including the Daniel Weber Statue, Kimball-Jenkins Estate, John Stark Statue, and Mary Baker Eddy Historic House.

 

The city offers a variety of other fun attractions both indoors and out.  For some local art, try the Capitol Center for the Arts or Red River Theatres.  Outdoor enthusiasts will want to stop by the Susan N. McLane Audubon Center and Silk Farm Wildlife Sanctuary, Winant Park Hiking Trails, or go out on the river with Contoocook River Canoe Company.
