East Honolulu is made up of the areas directly east of the center of Honolulu, beginning at the Waialae Country Club and extending east to Makapuu Point, the easternmost point on the island of Oahu.  It consists of mostly upscale neighborhoods and fine dining.  Iconic landmarks such as Diamond Head Monument, Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, and Halona Blowhole Lookout are a must see on the Eastern part of Honolulu.

If it is your first time to Honolulu, it is almost mandatory that you visit Diamond Head State Monument.  The monument features breathtaking views overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Honolulu. In fact, the view is so good that previously it was utilized by the military as a post for preventing attacks against Honolulu.  After taking in Diamond Head, be sure to make time for The Manoa Falls Trail.  Manoa Falls is a fascinating waterfall site on Oahu which is easy to reach.  Not many waterfalls on Oahu are so easy to travel to, and this waterfall is not to be missed.
