Elko, Nevada is located in Elko County and as the city motto states, "The Heart of Northeast Nevada." The city lies along the historic California Trail and straddles the Humboldt River. The area features a diverse selection of museums and points of interest. Some casinos are located in Elko including the Stockmen's Casino and Hotel, High Desert Casino, Red Lion Casino, and Commercial Casino is known for its stuffed 10 foot tall polar bear on display. 

Perched at the foot of the Ruby Mountains you'll find Snobowl Ski and Bike Park. One chair lift and one surface lift provide access to a large bowl with beginner to intermediate terrain. The Park is only open on the weekend and staffed by volunteers. 

Check out the Northeastern Nevada Museum featuring art local history exhibits and an extensive wildlife dioramas. The facility is over 20,000 square feet with six galleries. There's something for everyone to enjoy here.
