Known as "The Sock Capitol of the World" Fort Payne, Alabama is a lovely town to explore. A traditional southern town, Fort Payne is a great place to visit. Home of the country music group Alabama, it has no shortage of interesting sights to see.

Located in northeast Alabama, Fort Payne saw some minor Civil War battles. However, Fort Payne, most notably served as an internment for Cherokees being rehomed. During the late 1800’s, Fort Payne became a center of sock and hosiery production. A wonderful town, Auburn has plenty of activities to keep you busy.
