Holliston is a small town in the greater Boston area, only 30 miles from Boston. Despite its easy access from the city, it abounds with natural scenes including forests, lakes, and wetlands.
Lake Winthrop is a large and beautiful lake with two beaches for swimming, at Stoddard Park and Pleasure Point. The lake offers fishing and boating, but no gas engines are allowed. Stoddard Park and Pleasure Point both contain children’s play areas, BBQ areas, and covered picnic areas.
Downtown presents several areas of interest including an 18-hole mini-golf course called Putts and More. Goodwill Park, also in the downtown area, stands conveniently with shopping and dining nearby.
Holliston holds out several other outdoor venues for hiking and biking including the Rees Nature Trail, Holliston Town Forest, and the Poitras Memorial Land which contains wetland areas as well.
