Booking a Hotel in Pawtucket, RI
Pawtucket Rhode Island is a quaint town located between the very end of the Narragansett Bay and the falls of the Blackstone River. Known as a cultural and art center, many artists call Pawtucket home. If you are lucky enough to visit in September, you can attend the annual Pawtucket Art Festival. For a unique adventure, check out the Slater Mill. Established in 1793 is the very first cotton-spinning factory in the United States. It is often called “Birthplace of the American Industrial Revolution.” The museum displays a large number of the original tools, artifacts and industrial machines. For an outdoor adventure visit the Slater Memorial Park. Located on the banks of the Ten Mile River, this 197 acres is the largest in town. This park still contains the oldest house in Pawtucket, the Daggett House. Some amenities the park boasts are the Looff Carousel, ten miles of riverbank for fishing, a three-mile bike and hike trail, and a tennis court.
