Bennett Place

Bennett Place is a historic site located in Durham, North Carolina that serves as a reminder of one of the most significant events in American history – the end of the Civil War. It was on this site, on April 26, 1865, that the final surrender negotiations between Confederate General Joseph E. Johnston and Union General William T. Sherman took place, effectively ending the long and devastating war.
