Laguna Woods, California is located in Orange County and approximately 21 miles from Anaheim. Be sure not to get confused with other similar named cities nearby such as Laguna Niguel and Laguna Beach. A major visiting spot for locals and tourists is the Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park. Sitting on 4,500 acres of beautiful rugged coastal canyons, grassland, and riparian woodlands include trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horses. The parks various geological features such as springs, caves, and exposed marine fossil beds are a kids favorites. Another place to explore is the Laguna Coast Wilderness Park sitting on 7,000 acres with natural lakes and several trails that lead to downtown Laguna Beach.  

A short drive away on the Pacific Coast Highway is the Laguna Art Museum. The collection consists of more than 3,500 pieces of artwork from the 19th century to present day. This unique collection focuses on only California artwork covering notable examples from each period.
