Surfridge

Welcome to Surfridge, the neighborhood located in Marina del Rey, California. This once thriving community was established in the 1920s and was home to around 500 households. However, in the 1960s, the Los Angeles International Airport expanded and acquired most of the land, resulting in the eventual decline and eventual abandonment of the neighborhood.

Despite its abandonment, Surfridge holds a rich history and a sense of mystery that continues to attract tourists and visitors. The remnants of homes and streets can still be seen, and visitors can explore the area and imagine what life was like for the residents of this coastal community. It also serves as a reminder of the impacts of urban development and the resilience of nature in reclaiming its land.
