Battery Wallace

Battery Wallace, located in Tiburon, CA, is a historical landmark that played a significant role in the defense of the San Francisco Bay during World War II. Built in 1942, Battery Wallace was one of several gun batteries constructed along the coast to protect the bay from potential enemy attacks. Covering over 8 acres, the battery was equipped with 16-inch guns that could fire over 26 miles out to sea.

Standing at the battery, visitors can imagine the intense level of preparation and vigilance required during the war. The battery was active for only a brief period of time, but its presence served as a deterrent to potential attackers and gave a sense of security to civilians.
