The cozy dining room was decorated with traditional Afghan paintings and fabrics, instantly transporting me to a different place. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home. The owner, who was also our server, took the time to explain the dishes and their cultural significance, adding to the overall experience.

The menu at Maiwand Grill offers a variety of traditional Afghan dishes, including kebabs, stews, and vegetarian options. I decided to try their signature dish, Mantu, which is a steamed dumpling filled with seasoned ground beef and topped with a tangy tomato sauce and yogurt. It was bursting with flavor and unlike anything I had ever tasted before. My colleagues opted for the Lamb Tikka Kebab and they were equally impressed. The portions were generous and everything was made with fresh and high-quality ingredients.

Overall, I cannot recommend Maiwand Grill enough to anyone visiting Junction City. Not only is the food delicious, but the whole dining experience is unique and authentic. The prices are also very reasonable, making it a great option for a casual lunch or dinner. As someone who loves to support local businesses, it is refreshing to find a restaurant like Maiwand Grill that has been serving the community for over 20 years and has maintained its quality and charm.
