The Wild Pacific Trail was created in 1999 by local resident, Oyster Jim, to showcase the natural beauty of our town and to protect the environment. This trail spans 9km and is divided into four sections, each offering a unique experience. Choose Your Own Adventure
One of the best things about the Wild Pacific Trail is that it is accessible to all ages and fitness levels. You can choose to hike the entire trail or just a portion of it. The Lighthouse Loop, which is 2.6km, is a popular choice for families and offers magnificent views of the ocean and the Amphitrite Lighthouse. For a longer and more challenging hike, the Big Beach Trail takes you through the ancient rainforest and leads to a beautiful, secluded beach. No matter which route you choose, you will discover hidden gems along the way, from tidal pools filled with marine life to picturesque viewpoints.
