For a leisurely walk with stunning views, I recommend the Amicalola Falls State Park Trail. This easy 2-mile trail takes you to the base of the Amicalola Falls, the tallest cascading waterfall in the Southeast. For a more challenging hike, check out the Springer Mountain Trail. At 4 miles roundtrip, this trail will lead you to the southern end of the famous Appalachian Trail and offer breathtaking panoramic views.

Water Adventures for the Brave
For families seeking a little more excitement, East Ellijay has you covered with various water activities. The Cartecay River is a popular spot for tubing, kayaking, and canoeing. With Class I and II rapids, it's suitable for families with children as young as 5 years old. You can also find several outfitters in town that offer equipment rentals and guided tours. The Ellijay River section of the Coosawattee River is also a great spot for fishing and swimming.
